
The 2009 PIRSA State Workshop will be held on
October 1 & 2, 2009
at East
Stroudsburg University sponsored by Advantage Sport and Fitness.
This year’s workshop will be hosted by East Stroudsburg
University located in the Pocono Mountains in Northeast Pennsylvania.
A variety of presentations from professionals and students on the hot
topics on interest today. Emphasis on student participation, with both
student-run sessions and professional sessions. Additionally an evening
social to renew acquaintances and make new ones is scheduled.
Agenda
The program will begin at the ESU Recreation Center on Thursday morning
featuring a vendor expo, tours of campus and Recreation Center, and
welcome address from the Vice President of Student Affairs. In the afternoon,
the conference will move to Stony Acres, a 114 acre ESU reserve in the
Poconos and professional presentations will be held followed by an evening
social. On Friday, the program will continue at Stony Acres. In the
AM, the program will begin with early morning workouts and disc golf.
After several other professional presentations, the conference and finish
around noon.

There are several lodging options for you to elect.
8 Person Cabin*
You will have the ability to list people or school you would prefer
to share a cabin with overnight
Accommodations: Bunk bed sleeping arrangements. We will be providing
mattress sheets and pillows, but guest must provide sleeping bag or
quilt. Bathrooms and showers are available at the bath house or in the
lodge.
Lodge*:
Mattresses will be supplied and placed on floor. We will be providing
sheets and pillows, but guest must provide sleeping bag or quilt. Bathrooms
and showers are adjacent to the room.
Tent Camping*: Please provide your own tent
and sleeping needs

Lodging Notes
- The conference committee will do it’s best to place you where
you prefer. Housing assignments will be sent to you with your conference
registration confirmation.
- Shower and bathroom facilities are available on-site at Stony Acres.
- There will be a minimal fee for those who wish to arrive on Wednesday
night and stay at Stony Acres. Only cabins and tenting will be available
on Wednesday night.

Proposals will be evaluated and accepted in relation to the number
of proposals received, and their ability to best serve and educate the
PIRSA conference participants. Presentations with student presenters
will be given priority. We are still accepting presentation. If you
have an idea and not sure if you would like to present, please contact
us regardless.
